Coffee entering the United States is food, so the importer handles FDA requirements: prior notice before arrival, and, for most importers, the Foreign Supplier Verification Program. From enquiry to shipment

1. Define the lot
We agree grade, bag count, destination and the documents your broker needs.
2. Cup a sample
A green sample from the lot on offer is sent for your roasting and cupping.
3. Document
The grading record and shipment details are sent in time for prior notice.
4. Ship
FOB Dar es Salaam, or CFR to your US port, with routing confirmed at booking.

Who files FDA prior notice?
Prior notice is filed for the importer, usually by its customs broker, before the coffee arrives. We supply the shipment details it needs.
Can you supply organic coffee for the US market?
From producer groups that hold their own organic certificate. We name the holder and pass you the reference to verify before contract.
What is the minimum order to the US?
One 20-foot container, about 300 bags of 60 kg, which can carry more than one grade.
