Our story
A Tanzanian Green Coffee Exporter With One Desk From Origin to Port
Afri Exports is a wholesale agricultural exporter founded in 2010 in Mtwara, Tanzania. Our coffee programme buys washed arabica from the northern and southern highlands and natural robusta from Kagera, grades and checks every lot, and ships unroasted coffee FOB Dar es Salaam to roasters and importers abroad.
Operations and sourcing
Traceable to the region and the producer group
About nine-tenths of Tanzania's coffee is grown by smallholders, who sell through cooperatives, washing stations and a small number of estates. We buy through the Tanzania Coffee Board auctions and through direct-export contracts, and each lot keeps its region, producer group and crop year attached from purchase to bill of lading.
- Kilimanjaro and Arusha, the northern slopes and the origin of Tanzania's coffee reputation
- Mbeya and Songwe, the Southern Highlands, now a large share of the arabica crop
- Ruvuma, including Mbinga, for southern washed and natural arabica
- Kagera, on Lake Victoria, the home of Tanzanian robusta
- Dar es Salaam, where lots are bagged, stuffed and shipped
Quality and compliance
Written down before it ships
Grading is a measurement, so we treat it like one. Every lot we offer is checked for screen retention against its grade, moisture and defects, and the results travel with the lot number. Buyers who need more, such as water activity, residue screening or an independent cupping, write it into the contract and we arrange it before the coffee leaves Tanzania.

A Tanzania-based team running sourcing, grading and logistics, so there is one accountable partner from the auction floor to the destination port.

Works with the cooperatives, washing stations and estates behind our coffee in the northern zone and the Southern Highlands, and follows lots from the auction catalogue or direct-export contract through to the mill.

Quality Manager
Runs green grading for the coffee programme: screen retention, moisture, defect counts and sample preparation, so the sample a roaster cups is drawn from the lot that will ship.

Logistics Coordinator
Plans bag and liner choice, container stuffing and bookings out of Dar es Salaam, and keeps the export documents moving so they reach the buyer before the coffee does.
